ABOUT
Rosina Wachtmeister is an Austrian-born artist, best known for her vibrant, whimsical cat-themed artworks. Born in 1939 in Vienna, she later moved to Brazil, where she studied sculpture and stage design. In 1974, she settled in Capena, Italy, where her garden and animals continue to inspire her work. Her distinctive style features bright colors, stylized shapes, and dreamlike compositions, often described as naïve or romantic. Wachtmeister’s art appears in prints, books, and collectible porcelain figurines, especially through collaborations with Goebel. Beloved worldwide, especially in Europe, her charming creations celebrate love, nature, and the joyful companionship of animals—particularly her iconic cats.
