A very fine French late 19th Century bronze sculpture of a Arab man walking and carrying a stick between his shoulders. The surface of the bronze with good detail and a rich red/brown patina. Raised on top of a fitted bronze base signed 'Pinedo' and stamped with 'Bronze Garanti' Seal. Also with gilded title plaque to the fore inscribed “Arabe en Marche”.

Emile Pinedo (French, 1865 ~ 1933) - was active/lived in France and Italy. Emile Pinedo is known for Bronze historical figurative sculpture in the orientalist genre.
A Sculptor and medal engraver, Pinedo also practiced casting, a domain in which he succeeded his father in 1865. He seemed to prefer sculpting femine figures and oriental people. His bronzes are highly reputed and of a very good quality.
