ABOUT

Vicki Lindstrand (1904–1983) was a distinguished Swedish glass designer, sculptor and ceramic artist, celebrated for his innovative contributions to Scandinavian glassmaking during the twentieth century.

Born in Gothenburg, Sweden, Lindstrand initially trained as a commercial artist before joining the renowned Orrefors glassworks in 1928. There, he developed a distinctive artistic style, producing elegant engraved glass, sculptural forms and sophisticated decorative designs.

In 1950, Lindstrand became artistic director of Kosta Glassworks, later associated with the internationally recognised Kosta Boda brand. During his tenure, he introduced imaginative designs characterised by flowing organic shapes, vibrant colours and innovative glassmaking techniques, he remained at Kosta until 1973.

His celebrated works include striking coloured glass vases, bowls and sculptural pieces, frequently incorporating submerged decoration, controlled bubbles and dramatic colour contrasts.
