Hippolyte Moreau (French, 1832 ~ 1927) Born in Djion, France, he studied under Jouffroy in Paris. He then went on to exhibit at the Salon from 1863, winning a bronze medal at the Exposition Universelle of 1900. He specialised in Genre groups and figures. worked 19th century into the 20th century. With his two brothers, Auguste and Mathurin the three Moreau brothers are today recognised as the top romantic figurative sculptors at the turn of the century.
