LE VERRIER, MAX

Max Le Verrier (1891–1973) was a prominent French sculptor, medalist, and designer, best known for his work in the Art Deco style. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts and established his own foundry in Paris, where he produced both his own works and those of other leading artists of the time. Le Verrier’s sculptures often featured elegant female figures, athletes, and animals, typically cast in bronze or spelter with distinctive green patinas. His pieces exemplify the glamour and dynamism of the Art Deco period and remain highly collectible. Today, he is recognized as a key figure in 20th-century decorative arts.
