Affortunato Gory, Italian, act. 1895 ~ 1925
The sculptor Affortunato Gory is an Italian sculptor active from 1895 to 1925. He came from Florence and studied at the local Accademia di Belle Arti under Augusto Rivalta. At the beginning of the 20th century, he moved to Paris and finished his studies under Victorien-Antoine Basset.
He exhibited several times with busts and statuettes of young women at the Salon des Artistes Francais. He created mainly women and historical figures, often in the chryselephantine technique, using marble, ivory and bronze.
