A pretty early 20th Century patinated and gilt bronze study of the bust of a young woman rising from the centre of a flower wearing a flower headdress, the bronze with good variegated colour and fine detail, raised on a breche griotte circular marble plinth, signed H Godet & inscribed Med d'Or to represent that this subject was a gold medal winner at the Salon des Artistes Francais

ABOUT
Henri Godet (French 1863 ~ 1937) was born in Paris on 5 March 1863 and died in Vincennes in 1937. Godet was a sculptor and medal engraver. He was known for his popular busts of women decorated with flowers. Godet exhibited regularly at the Salons from 1883 to 1935
