ABOUT

Mark Gibeau is a Canadian glass artist based in Strathmore, Alberta, known for his bold, sculptural blown-glass works. Raised on a mixed farm near Cluny, Alberta, he originally trained as a carpenter before discovering woodturning — and eventually glass — as his artistic outlet. In the early 1980s he transitioned to glass, studying at Red Deer College and the Alberta College of Art, where he developed his skills in hot glass techniques, translating his understanding of structure and form into glass art. 

Gibeau is especially known for his “Face Series” bowls and “Prairie Boulders” — free-form and often substantial vessels characterized by strong design, rich colors, and striking visual presence. His pieces have been exhibited across Canada, the United States, Europe, and Japan, and continue to attract collectors interested in contemporary studio glass.
