Stunning 20th C bronze group of three beautiful women in elegant classical attire inspired by the deity traits of ‘Beauty’, ‘Charm’ and ‘Elegance’ in ancient mythology. The bronze has vivid cold painted enamel colours heightened with gilding. Signed Erté, numbered 288/375, dated 1987, inscribed Fine Art Acquisitions and stamped with the Meisner foundry logo.

The Greeks personified the gentler attributes which beautify and refine human existence in the form of three lovely sisters, the Three Graces, Euphrosyne, Aglaia, and Thalia, who were the daughters of Zeus and Eurynome (or, according to later writers, of Dionysus and Aphrodite).
