Jonathan Knight (English, born 1953) – Having been a professional sculptor for nearly thirty years, Jonathan Knight is widely recognised as one of the leading wildlife and equestrian artists of his generation.

Early on, he established his reputation with lifesize bronzes of Dawn Run at Cheltenham Racecourse and of Music Boy at Cheveley Park Stud, Newmarket.

A life lived in the countryside of Sussex has brought about a connection with nature, expressed in his sculpture of wild animals and birds. In these,he pares away surface detail to concentrate on form.

This seems to enhance their sense of life rather than diminish it.

In his pieces featuring multiple examples of the same bird such as his famous Curlews or his Covey of Partridges, he reveals their synchronicity of form and movement, and the close dependence of individuals on the group.

He uses an exciting range of patinas to enhance the mood of his bronzes. This process he executes himself rather than using foundry technicians. Thus he ensures that his original vision is carried right through to the final piece and that each finished bronze bears his personal stamp.

The bronze sculptures of Jonathan Knight are now widely sought after and collected. Indeed, his first version of the Curlews features in the private collection of H.M.The Queen.

His work is regularly exhibited at the major art fairs in England and Europe , including the LAPADA Fair in London, the EURANTIKA FAIR in Brussels, and Pan AMSTERDAM FAIR in the Netherlands.
